St.Mary Virgin Northill sits at the heart of the community in the picturesque village of Northill. The parish covers Ickwell, Thorncote, Hatch and Budna as well as Northill. Our church has a beautiful, well-maintained  14thC building in a large churchyard.

There is a weekly Sunday Service at 11.15 a.m, usually a Sung Eucharist, (apart from first Sundays when there is a rotational service with the sister churches in the Benefice) and a said Eucharist on Thursday mornings at 9.30am. Special Services are held at all the major festivals. The church is well supported by members of the community. There is a close relationship with the village school and a thriving Friends of St.Mary’s.

Both the Church and the Friends put on a number of events throughout the year which bring the community together as well as raising funds.

Our friendly Church is situated in the heart of Northill, next to the Crown Inn, by the pond and opposite both the Village Hall and the village school. It has a large churchyard with some very historic table graves, a small Garden of Remembrance and a wildlife area.

There are services every week, as listed on the Services page.

There are a number of events held every year which both fundraise and provide entertainment and cohesion opportunities for all the village. An example of these can be seen in the events section.

It is a large village church and the building was started in the early 1300’s , and was completed after the ravages of the Black Death had passed. It is a Grade 1 listed building in the conservation area.

It has many fascinating and historic features inside, and the building is open for a minimum of 10am-2pm daily and visitors are always encouraged.
